DIN sizes:

Panel dimensions:

The US standard for a DIN radio is 6.83" x 2" (173.5x50.8mm)
(although the actual 180 mm width converts to something like 7-3/32" so most people use 7-1/8" (180.96mm) to allow for clearance)
and the Double DIN sized radio is a 7" x 4" (177.8x101.6mm). Some radios in Japanese Kei cars do not conform to the DIN standard however.

International standard ISO 7736 defines a standard size for car audio head unit (HU).
The standard was originally established by the German standards body Deutsches Institut für Normung as DIN 75490,
and is therefore commonly referred to as the "DIN car radio size". It was adopted as an international standard in 1984.
HU generally come in either single DIN (1-DIN, 180 x 50 mm panel) or double DIN (2-DIN, 180 x 100 mm panel) size.
However, "de facto" standard presents width of HU as a little bit narrow, 177.5 mm, because there have to be space
reserved for locking mechanism both side of the chassis.
There are two types of 2-DIN radio installation kits. See the product picture.
Type 1. Radio place consist of two stacked 1-DIN assembly openings, with total height of 118mm. Called as 2-ISO as well.

Inner dimensions of the metal frame: 180 x 103 mm
Outer dimensions of the plastic fascia adapter: 188.5 x 118 mm

Type 2. Radio place consist of one opening for assemble the 2-DIN radio, with height of 110mm.

A standard 19-inch server rack cabinet is typically 42u in height, 19 inches (482.60 mm) wide, and 36 inches (914.40 mm) deep.
Newer server rack cabinets come with adjustable mounting rails allowing the user to place the rails at a shorter depth if needed.
Typically, a piece of installed equipment has a front panel height 1⁄32 inch (0.031 inches or 0.787 millimeters) less than the allotted number of rack units.
Since the mid-1930’s, the ubiquitous 19-inch rack format has remained constant.
The second most commonly used rack format is often called the “half-height rack” wall mount design.
These are popular in schools, auditoriums, gymnasiums and many hospital facilities.
The half-rack designation comes from the fact that these enclosures are usually somewhere between 18 and 24U in height or about ½ the height of the standard 42U rack.

subrack may have guides for cards and backplane with connectors.

The Eurocard mechanical architecture was defined originally under IEC-60297-3.
Today, the most widely recognized standards for this mechanical structure are IEEE 1101.1, IEEE 1101.10 (also known commonly as “dot ten”) and IEEE 1101.11.
The Eurocard is a mechanical system and does not define the specific connector to be used or the signals that are assigned to connector contacts.
The connector systems that are commonly used with Eurocard architectures include the original DIN 41612 connector that is also standardized as IEC 60603.2
